Ncaa - RedHawks Head to Akron to Battle the Zips at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26

TRAVELING MEN: Miami hits the road for three of its next four games. The RedHawks take flight for a 7 p.m. tilt at Akron on Thursday, Jan. 26 and a noon battle at Ohio on Sunday, Jan. 29. Miami makes a brief stop at home, hosting Bowling Green at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, before again taking to the road for a 7 p.m. contest at Buffalo on Saturday, Feb. 4. Miami will have a nine-day layoff following the Buffalo trip.

ABOUT AKRON: Miami college basketball team travels to Akron, Ohio, to face the Akron Zips on Thursday, Jan. 26 in an East Division battle, the second East Division game for each team. Akron had a seven-game win streak snapped by Ohio on Tuesday night as it fell to the Bobcats 66-63 in Athens. It was the Zips' first MAC loss of the season. Akron is led by Romeo Travis, who averages a team-best 14.7 ppg and 5.9 rpg. Travis is accompanied by Nick Dials, who is averaging 10.6 ppg, and Dru Joyce, who averages 10.1 ppg and 5.2 apg. Akron has a high-powered offensive attack as it leads the MAC averaging 76.1 ppg. The Zips also are outscoring their opponents by an average margin of 10.6 ppg.
